AI That Acts: Our Next Chapter with ServiceNow

When we founded Moveworks in 2016, our goal was simple: take the friction out of work. At that time, using AI to enhance employee experiences was far from mainstream.

What began as a concept, using language understanding to simplify the process of getting help at work, has transformed into a trusted platform for over 350 enterprises and over 5.5 million employees globally.

Today, I’m excited to announce an important milestone in our journey. Moveworks has been acquired by ServiceNow, marking the largest acquisition in their history. Together, we aim to redefine how work gets done, turning conversation into completed work for every person and every workflow.

Why agentic AI, why now

Nearly two years ago, our team saw that while large language models (LLMs) were a significant step forward, the real transformation would come from agentic AI, systems that can search, reason, and act autonomously. 

Recent data highlights just how quickly this shift is unfolding: 62% of enterprises are already experimenting with AI agents, and 96% plan to expand their use within the year. Executives are no longer asking if they should adopt agentic AI, but deciding how fast and who leads. 

This momentum is expanding to new leaders. According to The New Face of AI Leadership, 78% of executives support letting strong AI agent initiatives come from anywhere in the company, not just from IT. Even more encouraging, it finds that 39% of executives believe agentic AI will create upward mobility for all employees, not just technical specialists. This is AI as an equalizer, one that expands opportunity, not restricts it.
